Itinerary
Day 1: Marrakech – Ouarzazate – Imilchil
Begin your 7-day tour from Marrakech to Merzouga Desert by heading towards Ouarzazate via the stunning cascades near Azilal. Enjoy lunch and visit the picturesque Bin el Ouidane lake. Continue through Afourer, making your way to Imilchil, a Berber village nestled in the heights of the mountains. Imilchil is renowned for its annual marriage festival. Spend the night in a hotel in this charming village.
Day 2: Imilchil – Ziz Valley – Merzouga
Depart Imilchil after breakfast, passing through Rich and the gorge of Ziz Valley. Visit the Meski source with its blue hues, and continue through the palm groves of Ziz Valley, making stops for picturesque views. Reach Erfoud, visit the fossils museum, and embark on a journey to the dunes of Erg Chebbi in Merzouga. Arrive before sunset, and enjoy a camel ride to witness the mesmerizing sunset. Stay overnight in a camp or hotel.
Day 3: Visit Merzouga
Wake up before sunrise for a walk to a high dune to witness the breathtaking sunrise. After breakfast, visit Khamlia to experience Gnawa music and dance. Explore the lake in the black desert called Hamada, known for seasonal flocks of flamingos. Have lunch in Rissani, the oldest imperial city, and explore its spice souk and handicrafts. Return to Merzouga for an overnight stay in the camp after a camel ride.
Day 4: Merzouga – Erfoud – Tinghir
Pass through the magnificent Ziz palm valley, Rissani, Erfoud, and Jorf. Continue through kasbahs and oases until you reach Todra Gorges near Tinghir. Explore the magnificent gorge and spend the night in a hotel.
Day 5: Tinghir – Boulmane Dades – Ouarzazate
Start the day from Tinghir, traveling to Ouarzazate via Boulmane Dades. Visit kasbahs and the Dades Gorge. Continue through the route of thousands kasbahs and the Rose Valley of Kelaat M’gouna, known for its annual Rose Festival. Explore the palm grove of Skoura and visit the Kasbah Amridile. Reach Ouarzazate in the evening, stay overnight at a hotel, and explore the film studios.
Day 6: Ouarzazate – High Atlas – Marrakech
Embark on a fantastic journey, visiting Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah and Telouet (Kasbah de Glaoui). Enjoy panoramic views overlooking the Tichka and Atlas Mountains. Arrive in Marrakech by the end of the day, spend the night in a riad, and explore Jamaa el Fna.
Day 7: Visit Marrakech
Dedicate the day to discovering Marrakech. Visit the Majorelle Garden, the medina, Koutoubia, and the Saadian Tombs. In the afternoon, explore Jamaa el Fna with its vibrant souks and colorful atmosphere. This marks the end of your 7-day tour from Marrakech to Merzouga Desert.
