Marrakech to Ait Ben Haddou and Ouarzazate Day Trip Itinerary:

Ait Ben Haddou stands as Morocco’s most well-preserved and beautiful Kasbah, resembling a collection of small Kasbahs. This UNESCO World Heritage Site, a 14th-century fortified hilltop village, once thrived on the Marrakech to Sahara caravan route. The Kasbah, featured in numerous films, is surrounded by a new village. The day trip commences at 09:00 from Marrakech, journeying through the High Atlas via Tizi N’Tichka Pass, offering glimpses of North Africa’s highest peaks and traditional Berber villages.

Upon reaching the fortified Ksar of Ait Ben Haddou, explore the charming Kasbahs and enjoy the atmospheric surroundings, particularly during sunrise or sunset. Climb to the granary ruins for panoramic views and stroll along the river and village. The journey continues to Ouarzazate, the desert gateway and Sahara tourism hub, where you’ll visit the Taourirt Kasbah. This ancient Kasbah provides insight into Moroccan architecture, and an entrance fee of 2 euros or 20 dirhams per person applies. In the afternoon, return to Marrakech.
